Use of body camera
Stavanger Parkering shall be a workplace where it is safe to work.
Preventing unwanted incidents with body cameras
Our traffic officers use body cameras. This is part of the systematic HSE work in the company. We have good experience of this as a preventive measure, reducing the scope and severity of unwanted incidents.
The purpose is to contribute to a safer work situation for our employees, and a safer situation for those who meet our employees in the field.
Storage and deletion of material
The employees carry the camera clearly visible with marking on the uniform. If the camera is set to record, the traffic officer shall, if possible, verbally inform the employee that the camera is recording. The employee shall also, if possible, offer the affected party a business card with contact information.
The recording is stored on a dedicated local PC and deleted in accordance with legal requirements. The police may request the recording to be handed over in connection with a report.
- If it is likely that the recording will result in one of the affected parties following up the incident, the recordings can be stored for up to 7 days.
- If it is likely that the recording will be used in the investigation of criminal offenses or accidents, the recordings can be stored for up to 30 days.
