Stavanger Parkering has upgraded the vast majority of its parking facilities with new modern standard chargers for rechargeable motor vehicles.
Stavanger City Council has decided that electric cars will pay 75% of the ordinary hourly rate in public parking and in Stavanger Parkering's parking facilities, provided that the car's license plate starts with EL, EK, EC, EB, EV, ED, EE, EH, EF or EJ.
Payment for charging is additional.
Charging and payment is mandatory for rechargeable motor vehicles at Stavanger Parkering's charging stations where this is signposted. Rechargeable hybrid cars pay an ordinary parking fee. On-street parking is time-limited where the maximum time is stated on the sign at the location.
All our parking meters automatically charge a 75% rate for electric cars with registration numbers starting with EL, EK, EC, EB, EV, ED, EE, EH, EF or EJ.
There are charging stations for electric cars and plug-in vehicles in all our car parks.
Charging is only permitted on electric poles or in sockets marked for this purpose. The electrical network for ordinary sockets in our facilities is not designed for charging electric cars and must therefore not be used. Violation of this may result in confiscation of the charging cable. If faults occur as a result of charging in a normal socket, the owner will be held liable for damages.
The price for charging is NOK. 4,- per KWH around the clock.

According to current regulations, only two-wheeled motorcycles (with and without a sidecar) and two-wheeled mopeds are exempt from the residential zone scheme. Electric car owners who are registered within a residential zone must therefore obtain an electronic parking card through a residential zone agreement for the vehicle. The agreement is granted according to current rules.
More information about residential zone parking can be found here.
